I'd have to explain where we met if I did, right? I mean, I tried to lie to Oz about it, and I wasn't good enough, he figured it out anyways. So it's not like I could fool Gilbert. And having to tell him is like...

If someone came to you and told you you'd lived for years in a world that you have no memory of, that'd freak you out, right? You wouldn't know what to think. I don't want him to feel like that.

My dear Miss Ahiru, Gilbert never knows what to think! And he's in a constant state of being, er, "freaked out." So we should simply tell him what to think. In my experience, that's what has always worked out for the best.
